Has anyone switched to Spark?

I've just done price comparisons for my gas and electricity.( I won't be changing until all suppliers have revealed their hands in the current round of increases.)

One comparison site ( Simply Switch) placed a company called Spark as the cheapest by some margin for my gas. I've never heard of Spark, nor does it show up on the other comparison sites.

Can anyone shed light on who Spark is/are, and what they're like?

Thanks.

It's always worth having a look at Utility Warehouse, which is often cheaper. That's owned by npower, I think, or one of the bigger operators. I'm not sure what the marketing reasoning is behind that, but it doesn't matter.

I've been with them for several years. I also have an exceptionally good deal from them for phone and broadband.

I just had a quick look at current prices. Note that if you take dual fuel, and/or other services such as phone, broadband etc, there is effectively a discount on the prices below:

Utility Warehouse (see www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk for more)

Gas Standard user
Monthly charge £1.40
Consumption 2.241p per kWh

Electricity Standard User
Monthly Charge £3.50
Consumption 9.474p per kWh

Prices for Direct debit, SWEB area, and excl VAT

British Gas prices are (as far as anyone can tell with their convoluted structure of Click 4, Tier 1, Tier 2 etc, etc)

again for the SWEB area, Direct Debit, excl VAT;
Gas Click 4 Domestic
no standing charge,
0-1143 kWh - 4.14p per kWh,
over 1143 kWh 2.04p per kWh

Electricity Click 4 single rate Direct debit excl VAT

no standing charge,
0-225 kWh 12.26p per kWh,
over 225 kWh 7.42p per kWh.

BG prices less 10.3% for paying for gas by DD (max discount £15.08), and 4.8% (max £4.75) off electricity charges .

(WHY do they have to have such stupidly precise figures eg £15.08?!)

Maybe UW are about to increase, but the difference is quite large, isn't it, at almost any level of consumption?
