imperial or metric gas meter?
I re-edited the post as I felt a fool. I was not sure whether I had a metric meter or imperial for gas, and after some reading it appeared I had a metric meter as there were no clocks but just figures. Thanks to the post below, I have identified that in fact I do have an imperial gas meter. Thanks very much again for posting / replying

There will be a ft, cubic feet, cubic meters or something at the end of the number, I think most meters are imperial, mines only 5 months I think and it's an imperial meter says ft under the numbers that go round (doesn't have clocks) It isn't how it measures, it's what it measures it in that matters.
The gas company will know which it is usually....I think I have read of 2 cases of it being wrong. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
For imperial meters you multiply the amount of units used by 31.5 if its metric I think its around 11 you multiply it by in order to work out the KwH
try both and see what results you get, Kwh for a year would probably be around 18000 to 30000 depending on your gas usage, hard to say without knowing your details.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!
