can i claim?

Last January I had serious financial problems, and came to payment agreements with my credit card companies.
the problems were caused by a build up of charges when i was off work sick.
can i still make a claim even with these argreements in place?
if anyone has had this problem can you let me know where i stand.
thanks

  • Yes you can still make a claim,Whether you receive any money your self is another question. If your claim has been passed to a debit agency consider the pros and cons of claiming. You could claim for example £200.00 and this will be paid to the debt agency, who might review your payments.

Now then, if you are only paying £15 or £20.00 a month back to them is it worth all the hassle, time and probable costs of taking the action to court.

And they then turn around and say we have reviewed your claim and need an extra 50% more payment of you.

It took me 5 months and endless paperwork and phone calls to get my money, only to have it paid direct to the debt agency.

I'm sorry to be a spoil sport,My solicitor rang me this evening and asked why I didn't get in touch with him about the claims.I said I thought I could sort it out my self and save money,A quick phone call with the details and the mention of the debt agency would have been all he required to say no, it's a waste of time.

As I have now found out,and by the look of it endless others are now finding out.
  • Has the bank agreed to suspend interest? They can just revoke that, and then you’re probably worse off. Wait till the whole lot is paid back, then claim.

If the agreement is so good, that you only pay a token quid a month, and you never, ever will pay the whole lot back in your lifetime, leave well alone.

Thats the best bit of advice I've seen for a while.

I think its about time we had a sticky somewhere advising people on the debt agencies.
