You cant get cheap ticket prices that far ahead.
But it should be easy to beat that price.
For example, if you were travelling out on Fri 22 Feb and returning on Sun 24 Feb, the return trip can be done for £45.00.
Have a look at National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner about twelve weeks before travel.0 -
While you're waiting for 12 weeks before you travel have a read of Martin's help pages:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-train-tickets
Also look at www.megabus.com - very restricted range of destinations - but amazingly cheap prices - coach and train.
If the dates are too far ahead - do a dummy run booking for the same days of the week - stopping short of giving them your financial details. I often almost book things for Mr Joe Bloggs, 1 High Street .... etc0 -
I would suggest this site:
http://www.firstminutefares.co.uk/
I think it is better laid out and I have found fares on here that haven't appeared on the National Rail web site.
Start looking at 12 weeks before you travel, there are potentially tickets at £15 each way.0 -
was that first class each way?0
-
That was Standard, but you should be able to get a weekend upgrade to first on the return leg on the Sunday for £5 to£10.0
-
And don't panic at the 12 week mark if the cheap tickets aren't available - recently it's been a lot less than 12 weeks when they have been released.0
