Family Hotel Room, London 2 nights in April

Hi there
I'm looking for a decent hotel with a family room (2 ads, 1 child) in central London on Tues 8th April for 2 nights.
So far, I've got the Premier Inn Southwark for £200. Anyone got better suggestions? Any discounts I've seen so far on the Discounts board either don't have anything for those dates or don't appear to have family rooms, or are just too expensive to start off with. Don't want to spend more than £200 on accommodation.
(Got my flights from Prestwick to Stansted for 1p (+tax) which was ok.)
Thanks
Stuart

Hi we have just stayed at The Holiday Inn in Mayfair for £130 night-including breakfast -family room with 2 adults, 2 kids in the room. Not quite as good as your other price BUT it is in a fantastic position-you can walk easily to Buck Palace, theatres, oxford street, eye etc etc etc-lovely staff as well. You can save a fortune on travel costs-it is across the road from Green park tube station and right next door to The Ritz-so you can star spot as well! We thought it was really great value for money.0

I've just checked and Travelodge have got rooms available at various points across the City ranging from £105 per night (Covent Garden) to Marylebone at £49 per night. As far as I understand, rooms usually have a double and a pull out/sofa bed for children. No breakfast though.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Also the travellodge in City Road has a family room for both nights for £59 a night. Doesn`t include breakfast, but plenty of cheap caffs in London. Bus stops right outside the hotel.0

There are some really centrally located youth hostels with family rooms if you are prepared to give it a try! I just did a quick search on their site and family rooms start from 70 odd quid for the one in St Pauls to about 92 for others. Might be worth checking out. Also have the option of self catering if you don't want to eat out all the time with tired, young kids.

There's also a new YHA just opening this year (not sure if open yet but will be by April I imagine) ... it's called London Central (I think) and on Great Portland Street.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

We have been staying at the Innkeepers Lodge in Snaresbrook - http://www.innkeeperslodge.com/ -central line tube 2 minutes walk away, continental breakfast, and if you are lucky and book ahead it is only £30 a room. Get an oyster card for the tube trip in - it is about 25 minutes. Also has free car parking.0

we stayed at the Elizabeth next to Hyde park in the summer - it was £92 per night - and reasonable. Was 1min walk away from a tube station - 20 mins walk away from Dianas fountain and had a child play area 10 mins away (not sure if required!). Local amenities were good - and restaurants within 5 mins walk away. The staff were good too.0

if you tesco vouchers then marriott and hilton are great. Even if you dont have them then you can buy them off ebay etc and essentially give you a 50% off rather than 75% off effectively. For e.g hilton kensington would have a room for all of you for about £130 in real money that you can pay for with tesco vouchers bought from ebay(general rule is double the stated value on the voucher) making your effective cost £65 which is cheaper than some of the other hotels and includes a great b fast and obviopusly a better class of hotel0

You can try this, it might help but I didn't notice any bargains in London. Don't worry about the inclusive booking dates as we have booked outside of these dates before with 2 for 1 so you can use this offer another time.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Will look at some of the options - looking for something reasonably decent as it's part of a 40th surprise for her that is sometimes obeyed!0
