Msn Messenger for Windows 98 2nd ed

I have had to reinstall this so i have gone to oldversions.com and downloaded version 7.5 of msn messenger which i think was the version i had before. I went to install it and a message came up that i need windows xp which i dont have.Do i just have to download an earlier version of messenger or are none now compatoble with win 98. Is there a workaround i can use.Help i just want to install a version of messenger!Thanks

Also, please use such an old version with care!

You only have to Google for "windows messenger vulnerability" to find numerous security problems with Messenger.

If you're running an old version under Win98, chances are it will have security holes that have never been patched and never will be.

I don't use it now I have moved to Mac, but Pidgin is a superb freeware multi-protocol instant messaging client that allows you to connect to multiple services such as Yahoo, MSN, AOL chat at the same time.

It may support Win98 and will have the benefit of being right up to date.
