My gran has asked me if it is possible to get something that will type and print letters, with a screen of sorts so she can see what she is writing.
I would suggest a laptop but she is 83 and is not willing to learn now how to use a computer.
Literally all she wants to do is type a letter and print it out.
Any suggestions?

I know you can get electric word processors, which have an LCD screen, and a built in dot matrix printer, as my grandfather has one. He did buy it a few years ago though, and it wasn't cheap. Probably get a decent 2nd hand laptop for less these days.
Have a look at this page on FREEADS.COM. Seems to be quite a few on there.I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

Not very easy to get
I've had a brother typewriter with an lcd screen in my loft for a few years. I'd love to give it to my uncle who needs a typewritter - but he can't even get to grips with the much less technical one I gave him years ago
I think I'll try and stear him towards a cheapy laptop with all the settings hidden and only the wordpad icon on the desktop0
