Benefits Help Please

Sorry I couldn't think of a better title without it being post length. I'm posting under an AE because it's pretty obvious to some who I am but I need help please.

I'm a student, 20, in my first year of university full-time, living at home.
I worked 16 hours per week up until 1st December. Then I cut my hours to a new 9 hours contract because of my health (I haven't signed a new contract though).
I've been off sick since just after Christmas, due to return next week.

I'm waiting on a Tax Credit claim to cover from my birthday to 1st December. I get low rate care DLA and according to the IB rules, I'd qualify as I cannot do the jug test.

I've also got mental heath issues but it's not properly recorded as to the extent of them, DLA-wise.

Is there any help available if I leave my job? I really cannot continue working
at the moment but they aren't paying SSP because I've dropped my hours, so I'm stuck.

Any advice hugely appreciated.

I dont think there are any benefits in this situation. What is the point of posting under an AE when people know who you are?
  • What I'm asking is, the IB and IS rules concerning a full-time student.

IB is available to full time students.

Can you be more specific with what you need to know? x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • The best place to go to get a complete check on what benefits and charity money you might be eligible for is your local Citizen's Advice Bureau. The service if free. Ring up to see how to get to see them - in some towns you have to queue outside to get an appointment from 8.15am for a 9am opening.
