we stayed at the curzon hotel last year and it was really nice, a short taxi ride out of town, with a fancy menu and nice bar. It has its own website.
  • The Mill Hotel is nice, central, gym, pool etc

plenty of good resturants and pubs in the centre. francs is reliably good french food, as is mds- lower bridge street. locus, braserie 1016, ego and stanleys also come recommended and have a wide selection. as it summer the red house would be fab...any specific requests and i could help.

do not try to park in the city as ut is almost impossible.

I went to Chester for the weekend last weekend to celebrate my birthday - lovely city, you'll have a great time! I'd recommend the Macdonald New Blossoms, where we stayed - not strictly a b&b and their standard prices may be more than you'd want to spend, but if you can get a sale rate or a deal then you'd be doing well to stay here. (We just missed out on a £74 per night b&b deal... Teach us to dither!) It's a fantastic hotel and ideal location, right on the main high street and only about a ten minute walk from the train station / £3 taxi ride.

I would also recommend Fiesta Havana to eat - it's a Latin restaurant with absolutely delicious tapas dishes and main courses. Booking recommended, it gets packed at the weekend.

    Hope this helps!
