Where did my money go.

I recently, for the first time, accepted payment through Paypal from a credit card but as yet haven't seen any money go into my bank account.
Can anybody please tell me if there is a "clearing" period and when can I expect to see the money in my account?
I accepted payment but now can't find any trace of it.
When is it safe to send off the goods.
Sorry if I sound a bit thick but it's the first time I've done this and I'm slightly worried.

When somebody pays via Paypal it sits in your Paypal account until you withdraw the money. Then it'll take 5 - 7 days to appear in the account you gave the details for.0

Have you activated your PayPal account. If not do that.
Make sure e-mail is also active (I added an extra one today and didn'y activate it I have a rather annoyed customer)
The money will be there its almost instant.
Mind you PayPal have been messing around with their site this week and another customer today says he will try to pay in morning.
Go to PayPal uk.....(google search haven't got url to hand)
Good luck0 -
Thanks for that.
I thought that receipt of funds was instant with PayPal. Does this mean that I should now wait until the money is safely in my bank account and then send the goods.
Many Thanks0 -
No, the money is in your PayPal account and safe. PayPal will charge you to take the money out unless it is above £50 otherwise its costs 25p.
I tend to leave money in my PayPal account (in smallish quantities) useful for paying for your wins.
I would send the item to your buyer straight away, you do not want negative feedback for slow posting!!0 -
Yup get your item sent out gasmark7!The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0

Paypal also have a time requirement for posting items, I think it is 7 days from payment, otherwise a claim can be made against the seller and those particular funds frozen until the matter is resolved and the item received by buyer.
Likewise, sellers using paypal do need to be aware that in the case of a dispute an item isn't considered delivered unless the seller can prove it, ie by using recorded delivery which is signed for by the buyer.

With the weekend you are certainly looking at 7 days at least from the moment you ask PayPal to transfer the money to your account.
I always withdraw the money from PayPal immediately if it's for something of high value. There are people out there who will do a chargeback after you've sent the item and then you've got no leg to stand on.
Personally I'm beginning to be put off eBay and PayPal because of all the risks.
Also, PayPal in my opinion could transfer the money quicker - but then making some interest out of your money is their number one priority ahead of the customer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
