Save £££'s on MP3 ringtones - DIY style

In true money saving style I have been making my own MP3 ringtone’s and saving them to my phone and thought rather than paying for ridiculous prices for the latest ringtone’s some of you would like to know how to do it.
I am sure there are loads of ways of doing it but this is how I managed to do it.
I downloaded a freeware program called ‘Musicmatch jukebox’, which allows you to transfer a normal CD into an mp3. You can then insert a CD into your PC, and select which track(s) you want to convert to MP3. Once this is done you can choose to trim down the MP3 to reduce its size (mb), or if you want a particular point of the song to be the start of your ringtone etc. For this I used another freeware program called ‘mptrim’.
Then I saved it to my memory card (from my PC to phone via USB 2.0 card reader), but you could use a data cable or if you have one via a bluetooth dongle. And thus the mp3 can be selected on your phone as a ringtone.
Saving you £££££’s per ringtone.
* Please note the above will only work on your phone if it is capable of playing MP3’s and also note this is only my opinion on how to do this.

Yeah, I do this myself, but instead of using Musicmatch Jukebox which (the last time I checked) is bloatware, I use CDeX http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
Its really quick and you can rip parts of the track, doing away with the need for post-encoding trimming.Boo!0 -
dronegc, i might try CDex as musicmatch jukebox has started to corrupt and generally be a pain in the !!!!!!.Rock on MSE!!!0

Or got to https://www.walmart.com go to the music / wal mart cd store. Search for any album (ringtones) you want. They have high quality 30 second (MP3) previews for tracks on albums. Just save these to your pc (right click on link for the track you want and then save target as) and transfer using bluetooth or a data cable.0

ive tried save target as for the mp3 ringtones, but they dont save as an mp3? so you cant transfer them via a dat cable (samsung d500) any1 any other sites ideas for transfering mp3's free via a data cable i.e. chorus of the song not the beginning.0
