Children & Canada

Having seen the great links for flights and places to visit I am really keen to take a trip, however I have an 8 and 11 year old and wonder whether they will be as interested as me?

We were planning to do Florida but would like to do something different ... so has anyone any thoughts on whether thos would be a place to take children?

Thanks

Haven't been to Canada as yet , going in September though , but been to Florida a few times and I would have thought there was no contest , it has to be Florida for children of that age IMO.

As I say , I haven't been to Canada , so I don't know what attractions there are for children , there may well be some good ones , although for myself , the first thing that springs to mind when I think of Canada is marvelous scenery , but Florida is a dream destination for most children and a fair few adults too icon10.gif

It REALLY depends on what sort of kids your kids are. :)

Whilst my lad (11) would say, "No Contest... Canada", the larger percentage in that age group would opt for Florida.

Last year we took a short "road trip" break, flew into NY, then drove to Toronto, via Niagara falls. Why?

    a) He wanted a "road trip" (albeit barely a 1,200 drive )
    b) We both wanted to see Niagara falls
    c) Having been up the Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur, he wanted to go up the CN-Tower.
    d) He was into the film "A Knights Tale" and wanted to visit http://www.medievaltimes.com/ (we plumbed for Toronto and it was BRILLIANT)

I know that doesn't help much, but it really is a case of horses for courses. :)

You could also take them to Ontario Place in Toronto that has a waterpark and fantastic IMAX theatre amongst other things. There is also a big theme park like Alton Towers called Canadas Wonderland which is just a few miles N of Toronto. Also as previously mentioned CN Tower is a must, Planet Hollywood and take the kids to a Toronto Bluejays baseball game at the Sky Dome!
    good luck with your decision!
