Beware Orchid Travel!!!!!

Yesterday I rang Orchid Travel to book a holiday.I was told that the holiday had gone and was quoted one costing another £120 and they said the ad should have been removed from Teletext Holidays.
Today I rang for another "bargain" and the same thing happened!
Both holidays are still being advertised.
I have never had this problem with any other Company on this site and of course the number to call was an 0870 number. I am seething.

You are better checking on the internet for cheap holidays.a lot of companies also offer discounts for online booking.

I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

Orchid travel sell holidays, but they prefer to put packages together and charge you more than you can do it for yourself.
Let people know where you want to go and when, and people will help you on this site.
It can work our much cheaper to go diy than go through a travel agent.

I booked a holiday through lastminute.com, and an hour afterwards the actual holiday company phoned me to say there was a problem, as although there were seats on the chosen flight out, there was only one seat on the way back. She offered a flight two days before which I was unable to accept due to other committments. I was then offered a flight one day earlier from another airport on a scheduled flight. Original flight was a charter. This holiday showed at £80 more per person, but the very nice lady said as they were unable to fulfil the original booking there would be no extra charge. I had already got a free upgrade to half board. Think I have got a bargain here, but will reserve complete judgement until holiday completed.

I had never heard of the company before (Anatolian Holidays) but their customer service so far is very good.

Right Saint Chris,I decided I would have a go at finding a 4 star all inclusive holiday to Lanzarote to leave Manchester 8/7 for 7 nights.
I tried Travel Supermarket and found 2 return flights for £148!!!!
When I went into add an hotel, I could only see packges including flights and although the star was given, the board was not.
Time is running out please can you advise?

I tried Farebase after a tip on here, found 2 great 'deals', tried to book and they're not available.
"The data displayed in this web site is NOT a display of AVAILABLE flights or holidays but is a database of prices and should be used as a means of researching the best fares for a given journey on a date or range of dates. Once a suitable fare has been found, it will be necessary to contact the travel agent to check if seats are available on the date you wish to travel. All airlines sell only a limited number of seats at the lowest fare on each flight. When these have been sold, you may be offered a seat at a higher fare. However, the price will NOT be removed from the fares database as the cheaper seats may still be available on other dates or subsequently become available again due to the airlines releasing more seats at the lowest fares due to fluctuations of supply and demand."

That's fine if thats the policy and they stick to it, but what really narks me is when they put things like "Fare Updated: 01/07/2005 at 02:11".....this leads you to believe that it's actually a live booking engine when it's plainly not.
