Click Energy Customers - Tip with the price rises..

Download the current prices now before they vanish forever, that way you can compare old for new when the prices are updated on the website.

The first 225kw is looking expensive now (if you generically apply 15%. Although its not clear how Click Energy will be affected yet). I will wait to see how the dust settles before I say bye bye to Click. :)

From Energyhelpline:

On the positive side, approximately 3M British Gas customers will not see a price rise. These are customer's on their price protection tariffs and their Essentials social tariff. British Gas have also said that all over 70's will get free insulation. And the current British Gas internet tariff Click Energy 4 tariff remains the cheapest tariff in the market for many customers.

Not 100% sure how they can say that about Click considering the prices have not been announced? Does that imply Click wont be affected, still always worth keeping a copy of the prices handy.

See here for *current* prices (valid as of 18/01/2008)

Yeah thats right, Click 4 wont be affected.

What generally happens when there is a price rise is they will release a new version of the internet tariff and close the old one off to new sign ups so I would expect click 4 to disappear in the near future and be replaced by a click 5

Npower did the same with their Sign online tariff, removed the Sign online 8 and replaced it with Sign online 9 with prices around 17% higher. Anyone on Sign online 8 were unaffected (although earlier versions were put up)

So if we use Quidco to transfer to Click 5, even though the unit cost is higher, are you better off switching to Click 5 until the next change in 6 months time due to the £60 cashback?

I dont know, there is no such thing as Click 5 yet so its hard to say.

If the difference is less than £60 then yes but I'd rather stay on the cheaper unit rates personally.

Depends on the cashback, and what the unit charges are. Wait and see I guess.

Searched for these last night myself but couldn't find them. I'm in the process of switching to Southern's Price Fix 2008 after deciding it would probably be cheaper after all the price increases. Hope I made the right decision as I obviously can't get back onto Click 1, this tariff has been the cheapest for me with Economy 7 for about the last 18 months.
