I know it's hardly Royal Doulton, but I bought a couple of 12 piece plain white porcelain sets from Woolworths

4 (very small) dinner plates
4 side plates
4 bowls

Good value - only £4.95 a set, and not too bad quality from their WorthIt! range

Thanks Scottie 1 I had ordered this set from Debenhams today after having seen it on deal of the day and thinking it was a bargain, but getting a set free is fantastic as I can keep one aside and add to in case of breakages and also for extra settings etc. I have just emailed and cancelled the Debenhams order, so hopefully that should be ok, if not I'll have 3 sets!!!!!

For those of you who managed to get the dinner services, the teapot set is really nice too reduced from £50 to £15 for teapot, sugar bowl and creamer and still in stock.

If anyone is in Manchester, there is a Royal Doulton shop at the Fort in Cheetham Hill and there are always loads of dinner services at 75% off ... as well as glassware and loads of other stuff. (Offers all year)

Worth a look if you are nearby.
