XP Home to Pro Upgrade.

Just a quick question, if I were to upgrade home to pro do I need a new COA, I have googled but cant seem to find out much, also if I do (I think I do anyway) where is the cheapest place (except ebay) to get a multi license for XP Pro (2 PCs).

    Yes you need a new COA - it is a different product.

    Can't help with the second question other than to say I doubt you would get a multi license for just two PC's.

    You might find some prices for OEM versions at Dabs, but remember you are supposed to buy a piece of hardware with these...

    Yeah I know its hardly worth the multi, but Its cheaper than seperate and to be honest its for 2home PCs, im not paying for it though someone I know wanted 2.

    I think I bought a case fan. Makes a mockery of the process really. I've also upgraded so much there's nothing left from the original pc I installed it on (including motherboard). It's refused to activate a couple of times since I've had it (XP Pro OEM) but phone calls to MS and they've yet to refuse me an activation.

    That phonecall makes me laugh, I have gone through the auto process and still get put through, well I have activated about 14 times now, what with all the junk I put on my PC at some stage or another, but with acronis all will be a lot smoother from now on :)

    Me too, just bought Acronis myself a couple of weeks ago to go with the new external hard drive I got for Xmas. :D The MS call centre are always friendly and I've never had a problem but it's a pain going through and reading out the entire registration code, especially after you'd only just typed it into the keypad through the automatic process.

    Yeah I got version 10 for £10 at ebuyer and the next day I went to order my brother a copy and all 113 copies had sold out :rolleyes: I think it was a case of the last one lying around but fib about how many left, told my brother this and he said oh well never mind he wont bother 2 weeks later dead hard drive :rotfl: :rotfl: he asked me to do a fresh install so I obilged, I gave him the local PCWorld number to him :rotfl: :rotfl:
