Thats an old one crossley, Ofgem gave Suppliers a lot of grief over that. 5 years ago seems about right for when it started happening. Sadly, it still goes on.
At the time this happened to you consumers would be less likely to be aware of all the dirty tricks sales agents were using so you were one of the many who got tricked.
Another similiar ploy is asking for permission via a form to contact you to discuss a deal. Then you get to the bottom and see they want your bank details just to make a phonecall!!!:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
