Hi,
after a bit of advice regarding my back garden.
we currently have grass in the back garden. it was seeded a year past september and really looks a mess as the dogs are killing it with pee and to be honest i really can't be bothered mowing it. i like gardening but hate mowing grass.
we previously had the whole garden slabbed but don't want to go back to that. i had thought about putting down bark chippings with a gravel/slab path down the middle as i am told bark is slippy.
the dogs are allowed out the back to pee, poo and play. we have no young children so thats not an issue.
what would be a good surface to have?

Hi, we have got a large doggy and in her housing and play area we have put down landscaping fabric so no weeds come and then gravelled on top of that, it is quite hygeinic cause you can rinse it through and wee is washed into the ground if we swill or it rains. we have a corner were she poops and we can then replace the gravel here if it needs to be, this hasnt happened yet and itsvbeen down opver a year, but it is very easy to get up the solids and low maintenance0

Hi,
Went i moved into my new house my back garden was already completly graveled. I have no problems with it & neither does the dog she is quite happy to go to the loo on the gravel & when it's raining etc my kitchen floor is a lot less muddy when she's in & out all day through the dog flap.

good idea to try to teach them to toilet on one spot if you can block a section for thier toilet, also a sandpit in one corner is great fun for dogs if you hide their toys in it and then they will dig there instead of your flowerbeds0
