First Direct - Unbelievable

I had a letter from First Direct informing me that my credit card details were one of the ones which were compromised in security breach at an American Card Processing Company
As such First Direct have stopped my credit card, and are sending me another one 'In 10 days'. Okay, so this is good practice and standard procedure, however I had already unwittingly 'bounced' a payment via Worldpay and got an angry letter from a merchant, before I recieved any notification and was at that time unaware of what was going on.
I currently have many services such as Webhosting which are billed on a re-occuring subscription basis through 2-Checkout, Worldpay and Paypal and not only is it going to be an inconvenience to manually update all of these services with the new card details (When it finally arrives), but with the old card being cancelled does it mean i'm going to be suffering the embarrassment of multiple bounced payments especially with it being the beginning of the month when these subscription payments are due?.
I don't have any other credit card details to enter in, and I am annoyed at First Direct for putting me in this situation and basically leaving me high and dry through no fault of my own, surely they can see what are monthly re-occuring payments and have made alternative arrangements?. It has certainly made me think twice about buying online in the future.
