  • I recently flew from Gatwick and looked in vain for cheap, safe car parking. I, like you, didn't want to leave my car just anywhere or leave the keys to my car with someone I'd never met before. In the end I booked the Sofitel at north terminal for the night and got the train into Gatwick. It was all suprisingly easy. I travelled from the midlands, had to change once at Reading, and the train went into the south terminal. It was much easier and cheaper than driving in and leaving my car somewhere dodgy!
  • If you book in advance you can book on line at the NCP short stay car park (we were away for 13 days!!), and the price was only £80.00. The carpark is adjoining the actual airport and you DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KEYS !!!! We have previously left our car at hotels with parking and came back to find our personalised number plates had been stolen, and car had been used, so after this experience never again, and will always use the NCP when flying from Gatwick. It was heaven on our return just stepping from the arrivals into our car, no more hanging around for coach transfers/taxis to hotel etc. Incidentially, I booked a family room at the Hilton which is also adjoining the airport and it was fantastic. Showed my honours card, got a room the size of an average house and went to the airport to have a pizza express and box of dunkin donuts - talk about starting our Florida holiday the way to go !!! I got the room quite cheap through Virgin Holidays Gatwick airport hotels beat Holiday Extras etc by £££££'s

Seems when ever we use a scrappe, it comes up with the Europa as the cheapest. Car is left on site, (unless they are really busy, then you take it to summer special carpark the next morning) never had a problem and have stayed there about 6 times. They transfer you you to the airport for free.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
