    Don't think there is enough space for a larger float but I will try unscrewing it and descaling to see if that helps - desperate times and all that!

    The larger float is for main storage tank,that's the one in the roof (which you don't have)
    The post was a bit off topic in that it was a reply to reheat's post.
    I am trying to think of another way of saying 'change the ballvalve washer' but nothing springs to mind.

  • Couldn't leave it be so I have descaled the ball a bit and turned the water up a little bit more.
    Still no leak and (fingers Xed, touch wood), no banging either.
