Well I've reached the conclusion that the PC is bu**ered! Have faffed around with the darn thing for ages, tried fixes suggested, tried to re-install MS Office, says source is corrupted.

I hate computers, I have a feeling that it might be best to re-format the thing and start all over again, but I can't face that task at the moment.

I did find on a Google search that someone said that they had problems after doing a registry cleanup, guess what? I did one of those a while back, I did back up the registry beforehand, but I know that MS office worked OK until the other day.
