Our dream home...

We viewed a gorgeous ideal 3 bedroomed house a few weeks ago but found out it was over our budget and there were already 2 offers in, so didnt hold much hope.
In the mean time viewed a grotty home (with the idea of doing it up) but they wouldnt accept under 100k and it needed at least 15k to do it up nice. So thought we'd be stuck renting for a few more years.
Anyway, got accepted for our mortage yesterday, put an offer in 10k under asking price (12k under 1st but was too low), told them that was our absolute max, no way could we get any more, if it wasnt accepted that was the end of that (which is all true). We're 1st time buyers and the home is owned by a building company who have short time scales for moving property.
So they accepted our offer!!!!!!!!!!! Im soooooo excited, no point to this but have to tell someone before I explode lol. Even better is that it needs nothing at all done to it, decorted to our taste even done to the minute silly detail of 2 bright pink small bedrooms and we have 2 daughters, one of whom has pestered us for ages for a barbie pink room!
Woohoo!
(just hope it doesnt fall through now after all this lol)

    It is a buyers market.

May I venture to suggest that you have overpaid?

You may suggest that, but in our area it is a very very good price for the house and the area, especially the fact its all be done up nice. We never thought we'd get a family home with a decent sized outside area for the kids to play in, in a nice area for under 140k tbh, so we're pleased anyway.:D

  • Just had even better news. Went for another viewing today to show our parents what we have 'bought'. The EA told us that the other person who put in an offer was so dissapointed. Turns out they offered 117000 (was for sale for 120k), we have got it for 110000 simply because we are 1st time buyers ready to go! Woohoo.

If what the EA said is true, then well done.
