i dont know where you stand legally but if it were me i would go to the bank and get a statement that shows the payment then take it straight to the holiday company. if they are too far away find a company who will fax it for you (places like staples may do this?) and get it chased up - good luck0

First of all I believe VISA will protect your payment - especially if it's a credit card. But also some debit VISA cards cover you.
Don't let the company keep trying - you may end up with several transactions.
Ask to speak to a manager. Who are they? Name names here and see if anyone else has had the same problem.0 -

Sounds like a problem with the 2 banks talking to each other when the transaction went through.
When a shop requests an authorisation on a card the card issuer has a certain number of seconds to authorise the transaction or it times out and comes back to the merchant as declined. It sounds like the bank authorised the transaction, but the authorisation code didn't get back to the merchant in time so their system shows the transaction was declined. Someone at the merchant's head office may be able to sort this out, but the easiest thing to do is probably wait a couple days for the original authorisation to drop off the account then put the transaction through again.0
