Moved into rented accomodation, BG guesstimate our monthly bill at £33.50

With 5 small rads and no gas cooker, just a small electric one.

Sound okay?

They also reckon the reading they've got of the meter is a LOT higher than the one we can see from the meter

Thanks

    Gas? Electricity? Both?

Last sentence not understood? The reading(gas? Electricity?) BG is working from is higher than the actual reading? Presumably theirs is an estimated reading?
  • Just gas - the electricity is with EDF who told the missus today that the flat (in a small court of flats) is on a business tariff and recommended that we fax through a letter stating it's a domestic household pronto :o

Aye, BG say the reading we gave them of the gas meter here with us differs fairly substantially from what they've got their end. Mind you I think the flat's been emoty for a few months so if they weren't told I'm guessing that they'll keep estimating usage as if someone was here?

So £33.50 a month for 5 gas radiators ONLY.

You may have to send edf a copy of your council tax bill if they continue to bill you as business.
The way to tell is the VAT, 17.5% for businesses, 5% for domestic.
