No music playback on TomTom T720

I got a Tomtom 720T that I use to play Mp3's when I'm driving as well as a bluetooth handsfree kit for my mobile. However, for some reason it doesn't play MP3's anymore and I'm at a loss as to why - the TomTom website isn't much help either so I was hoping someone would be able to help - thanks in advance.
