we think we have around 25k equity in the house but we are in court on the 23rd regarding repossession we are in arrears for £2400 OH has tried to make arrangments with N Rock but they have been reluctant to provide evidence for the courts cccs are overloaded very impersonal service at mo they say they will sort it out but weeks later still getting letters from disgruntled creditors.
Hi gina,
Have you had a recent valuation of the house? Don't forget house prices have dropped in some parts of the country, and you may well be overestimating the value of your house.
Have a look at the link below:
http://www.nethouseprices.com/index.php?con=sold_prices
It will tell you the actual selling price rather than asking price of any houses sold in your area. Obviously if there haven't been any sold in the recent past then it's not really a true indication of it's current value.
If the equity is £20k+ then you may have difficulty raising that amount unless you've got a wealthy friend or relative.
I wouldn't worry too much about the Court hearing. Providing you can offer something to clear the arrears the Judge is likely to suspend any repossession order. On arrears of £2,400 a proposal of £50 pcm should be acceptable.

Hi G
Hope you get things sorted out real soon!
Maybe the full picture with your Income & Expenditure will help your situation here, try and be brutally honest with it! thats what took me and my OH to get our affairs in order. We decided not to go down the CCCS route as they had a waiting list, went unfortunately went through a debt management co, they take a % but go us sorted out quickly and got the people off our backs.
Just try and remeber though, that where every u, oh & kids live you make it home! not just the bricks and mortar! so if you have to sell up and move someone then you have done the best by them all
Good luck xxxIf you like what I say please say thanks

just a quick question, we have now had our house valued and we now know about how much equity we will have (not as much as we hoped )! however if we sell find somewhere to rent pay off some of our debts and then go b.k.will we be in trouble for spending the equity our own way? g0

Hi gina,
Is it tomorrow you're in Court? Did you get the house valued yesterday?
