 really mad at them now. Was angry with them last month, now im mad.
22nd Jan i make my 1st payment to payplan, they've known about our finanical difficulties since Aug as we sent them a letter and expenditure/income sheet.
Dec they charge us £215 for being over our overdraft limit of £3000 (only reason where over the limit is the overdraft interest they keep adding on, account is no longer in use).
I rang them to complain, the suggestion, increase the overdraft to cover the charges  (no way was i doing that). Told them again about payplan and date id be making my payment to them.
Letter today, £215 charge plus interest for being over the limit
Why haven't they listened to me???? They don't seem to care at all. Im just seen at the perfect customer to rip off and continue making money off, even though where in debt problems.
I feel a second letter to the company coming on.

I wish that you would detail all that's gone before as I'm not really sure what you're upset about other than that the bank is charging you overdraft interest together with charges for exceeding your limit. Where does Payplan come into it? What's the whole story?0

well instead of complaining, why dont you try to reclaim bank charges?0

Sorry for not explaining in more detail, just really annoyed.
Payplan come into it, because as my sig shows, myself and OH have that amount of debt and where with payplan, going through a DMP. 1st payment is due on the 22nd at which lloydstsb and all other creditors will get a payment.
Payplan couldn't act for us when our money problems started in Aug because we had a pay nothing for 12mth agreement with DFS, we had to at least make 3 mths payments of the agreement amount before payplan could add them to our list of creditors.
In the mean time we had to deal with our creditors and make offers of token payments (with payplans help). So lloydstb received a letter explaining our debt problem, along with income and expenditure sheet and how much we could afford to repay them to eventually have the overdraft gone.
Bank account with them was stopped being used for everyday banking, but kept open due to the overdraft debt with them.
They got the token payment in Sept/Oct, even though they didn't accept our offer and wouldn't stop interest, were told to keep paying it. Ran into bill problems with electric in Nov and couldn't make any token payments, so missed Nov/Dec token payments to them.
Explained this to them, they didn't care. So interested added on each month, effectively mean't our token payment did nothing. The charges mean't the limit of £3000 exceeded, so then came the big charge last month of £215.
Rang them to ask why, when they knew we were having money problems, i re told them that on the 22nd Jan we'd pay payplan and they'd get a payment. Told no good, need to increase overdraft to cover these charges or i could pay £400 to bring the £3000 limit back. Explained i don't have the money, so told i would keep getting these charges.
Wrote a letter of complaint, yet to hear anything. But then get a letter today with charges to be debited on the 1st Feb, £215 unplanned overdraft fees and £46 overdraft interest.
I don't want to try and reclaim bank charges at the moment because i don't want it to affect them refusing payplan offer. I know they have been horrible to deal with on a personal level, but once payplan have my 1st payment they deal with all the creditors and have more power than me to get the interest and charges stopped.
After that, then yes i fully intend to put in a claim.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Having been told by you that they would receive token payments until Payplan kicked in you will appreciate that missing two of these payments did nothing for your credibility with the bank. Unfulfilled promises are a bank's pet hate and that in turn reduces their flexibility towards your situation. Having said that, their suggestion to increase your overdraft limit is in fact quite in order as, by doing so you will be liable for no more interest than you would have been anyway - in fact it may be less as they could be presently charging a higher rate for the excess overdraft -but also importantly, you will not be hit by charges for exceeding your overdraft. At the moment I would suggest being compliant with their suggestions, get Payplan payments going, stick to them and once you are in a more stable position set about trying to reclaim at least some of the account charges which on the face of it appear to be unreasonable. £215 of excess overdraft charges does suggest a series of transactions during the quarter but I couldn't comment further than that without having access to your account transactions which is obviously a none starter.
In view of your circumstances I would expect that your account with them will probably continue to attract interest but it may not actually be applied. That does not mean that you will not be liable for it, but it does mean that interest will accrue only on the outstanding balance which will slowly reduce. This in turn means that the interest accruing each quarter will also reduce - assuming interest rates remain stable.
Once again I cannot stress enough the importance of sticking to any agreement that you make and I hope that matters work out for you over the longer term.0
