Transferring someone else's balance

I recently discovered that my elderly mum is paying off an old credit card at the minimum payment per month, so she'll never clear it. Alas, at the moment i can't pay it off for her, but I'd like to help.

I've got all sorts of 0% balance transfer offers, and some credit card cheques that are 0% until November.

The question - can I transfer a balance on HER card to my card for the 0% offer OR could I pay her balance with one of the cheques and receive 0% on the cheque balance till November?

What are the chances of pensioners getting credit cards if they have decent credit history?

a couple of years ago my father paid for a holiday fo me and my family on a CC because i didn't have sufficient credit left on mine. as soon as i had reuced my balance enough i rang barclaycard and just did a standard transfer of his card on to mine. reduced his balance and increased mine. easy.

Yes you can do what you want in most cases but you have to remember the debt is your debt as soon as you do it.
