Garage CHIP & PIN Scam Migrates to Peterborough Co-op

Used the Co-op, in Mayor's Walk, West Town, Peterborough just before Christmas? Then check your statements.

"VICTIMS of a city credit card cloning scam were furious today after discovering that crooks have been on a spending spree with their cash in other countries."

Comment: It seems as if the very same scam (cloning cards and capturing PINs) that has been happening at garages throughout the land is migrating to shops.

Q. Should the Co-op have a duty of care to warn and inform all customers who have used their plastic in their shop (over a given period of time) to:
  • Check their statements.
  • Change their PIN
  • Consider using Chip & Signature Cards
