My dh has came into some subway vouchers and has been eating there all week, which is costing me 3 pound a day for lunch, he has fallen in love with their sandwiches especially their paramesan baguettes.
Would anyone have any idea how i could copy these at home?
Many Thanks

I would like to be able to admire a man’s opinions as I would his dog - without being expected to take it home with me."

I don't make my own bread so I don't know how you would do it from scratch, but ASDA do large sub rolls that are nearly the same as subway's bread, though I don't know if you would get the parmesan variety. They cost about 60p for a pack of 2 and make 4 lots of the 6-inch.0

I'm usually OS all the way but recently a Subway opened a branch right near my work and now I'm totally addicted. I'm sure they put something in their bread and/or that meatball sauce. Costs an absolute fortune so I'd love to be able to make my own! Don't have an ASDA anywhere near me though- do other supermarkets do 'sub' rolls?0

I lived on Subway when I was in Australia, but coming home I can't eat them. The bread is too thick and the fillings are tasteless! Wouldn't bother eating there again - especially as the baguette shop across the road here does a longer but slimmer warm fresh bagette, crisps and a can of pop for £1.95 - half what I'd end up paying at Subway!

I HATE Subway! It has the cheapest fakest tasting nasty meats that go in the sandwiches.
Now... if I Burger King opened near me....0 -

My family own a sandwich shop/cafe and when I was talking to the guy who supplies our cooked meats (we get 100 percent natural meats) he was telling me that subway buy the cheapest nastiest meat ever, just above the meat content that you would put in dog food I think he said, apparantly they work really tightly to margins...It has put me off going there again (not that I need to with a lovely sandwich shop in the family!)Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

If he really enjoys Subway-style sandwiches, why not try doing a HM version? Get (or make) sub rolls and ask him what he tends to go for in his sandwich - (leftover roast?) meat, cheese, different types of salads but (and this is the important bit) portion the dressing separately and he can dress it just before eating - it makes it feel a bit more interesting than a 'normal' sarnie and hopefully more tempting! You could even pack up a small portion of frozen meatballs or quorn meatballs and tomato/bolognese sauce that he can reheat in the microwave2015 comp wins - £370.25
