If you dream of having a lesson with a top international rider and trainer, or if you are in dire need of a new jumping saddle, but neither turned up in your Christmas stocking, then this is the competition for you. One lucky reader will win a lesson of their choice in either flatwork, show jumping or cross-country, with Chris Bartle at the Yorkshire Riding Centre. We’ll also throw in a brand new Jeffries Falcon Hawk Event XP saddle.

Chris Bartle has more than 40 years experience teaching riders and training horses. He won Badminton on the now retired Word Perfect and still has a busy schedule competing internationally. He is also managing director, instructor and trainer at the Yorkshire Riding Centre and national coach to the German three-day event team.

Chris has secured backing from leading saddlery manufacturers Jeffries, and is helping the Walsall-based company with product development and research. With standards in all equestrian disciplines constantly reaching new heights, he recognizes the importance of trainers, competitors and manufacturers working together on new products, and making improvements to existing ones. Chris says: “Jeffries produce top quality tack made from premium leather, which proves to be reliable and durable over many years.”

The Falcon Hawk Event XP is the fabulous new jumping saddle from Jeffries that will ensure you enjoy a smoother ride for many years to come. It’s ideal for Thoroughbreds and horses of a finer build - it has a deeper rear gusset and the front gusset has been designed to help prevent the saddle from moving forward up the horse’s shoulder. The gussets are easy to modify and adjust. The saddle is available in 17in, 17.5in and 18in, medium, medium-wide and wide fittings, and in black and havana.
