bradford and bingley do a 'what if' saver account in branches at 6% gross. You can have monthly income paid out into your account or to another account with other banks.
Its a bit limited on withdrawals, 4 without losing interest, after that you lose 30 days interest on any interest paid into your account.
They also do a websaver, but since your trying to avoid that, branches or postal may be best for you.'If I had this much money back 200 years ago I would have been an Aristocrat!'
Home Deposit Saved so Far This Year: £6,800/£10,0000 -
Try the Moneysupermarket link ... which is directly above your post among the links just under the title.
Click on 'Savings Accounts' / 'Easy Access'/ and put in the rough value you had in mind. Then look at the ones that give you monthly interest ... and across to see how (Branch / post / Tel etc) they are operated. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
