Boots Delivery via Amtrak

Having worked with Amtrak during my last job for deliveries, I dreaded getting my delivery when I found out thats who Boots were using. My order said dispatched on Monday, to be delivered by Thursday (this week). Well, nothing had arrived by today, so I checked the parcel status using Amtrak's website - it said delivered, to my porch! This amazed me, as the porch is ALWAYS locked, and I can see quite clearly that there is no parcel in there! Also, I was in the house all day on Tuesday so they can't have tried very hard to get my attention - it's a small house!

So I went round to the back of the house (we don't use the back door in winter) and there the parcel was - where it had been sat since Tuesday, through lots of heavy rain :mad: There had been no note put through the door to let me know where the parcel was, and now it is soaking wet. Thankfully the items inside were packed in plastic so not damaged, but that might not have been the case!

So just a warning - if your parcel is coming via Amtrak, make sure you check everywhere on the day it's due, because they won't tell you where they've left it!

I wont be ordering from Boots again due to the bad service I recieved from Amtrak before xmas.

Apparently they tried to deliver my item 3 times but didn't leave a note. They left one note and when I rang to re arrange delivery they said they'd tried 3 times and it d been sent back to Boots.


When I rang boots they were apologetic but had to give me a refund as they could not guarantee delivery before xmas.

Luckily Argos had reduced the same item to the same price the following day so I didn't lose out but I wont order from Boots online again unless its a bargainous price & I'm not in a hurry!!
