Please Help Me Find Snow!

Hello everyone,
I want to take my son to find snow for his 5th birthday, (1st week of Feb)
I can get cheap flights to Germany either Weeze (Dusseldorf) or Hahn (Frankfurt) Via Ryanair.
But I wondered if anyone had any ideas which one is closest to snow? I have Googled my fingers to the bone but all I can get are ski resorts im not worried about skiing just snow?
Any help would be fantastic

Thanks
Trav

go to lapland - got to lastminute.com, click on holidays, then click on ski and winter under the type of holiday then click on finland for the destination, then click search, it will bring up all the options, there are some for the time you want to go - it's also not just a ski resort, loads of other stuff to do or just play in the snow

some of the cabins they have on offer are for 6 people so you have to pay for all 6 even if there is only 2 of you but there is other options there too
  • Thank you for your reply. Although I would love to take all of my children there are 4 of them so with 6 of us going so that way works out rather expensive.
The flights with ryanair only come to £120 return I know that Hahn is only about 3 hours from the mountains but I cant find any guild to where else there may be snow?

but you cna get all 6 of you there, in a cabin with flights and transfers for a total of £600 for all of you - that's a great deal unless you are getting the ryanair flights for £120 for all of you that is
  • Thanks everyone.
The flts to Germany are £20pp return which is a good deal.
However I have also been thinking about Scotland but looking at prices its going to cost more money to get there? Whats the world coming to when Germany is the cheapest place to visit LOL
OW WELL MILTON KEYNES HERE WE COME LOL

    Thanks again

There is a ski resort 1 hr and 20 mins from salzburg called Bad Aussee.

You can probably work out how to get from frankfurt to salzburg?

Also there is a website called snowheads with a forum like MSE for info on skiing someone could probably help.

Or if you can get cheap flights to Krakow -ryannair were as cheap as 11.60 is single then there is a region near there with a snow resort and buses that go from the airport v. cheap and if you want to stay there v cheap accomodation in cabin type things.

I have grabbed the cheapest flight and got stuck so it depends if you are trying to do it in a day or not?

    Hope you get something.

Just a thought -you can get cheap flights to Northern spain and drive easily to Andorra ? but it takes a few hours-but accomodation in /near palces like reus are cheap.

Sorry more thoughts-from Glasgow prestwick you could drive to Glenshee easily -much snow at the moment. It dpends how long you want to stay as accomodation in Scotland can be dear even if SYHA you pay about 15 a night x 6 adds up.

But my children love the youth hostels ! so good for the little ones -you would have to have one old enough to slepp up top. you just make you own food and it is great fun.
