I have just installed a Canon IP1000 Pixma printer. Whilst I am happy with it I keep getting an error message when I try to print some items - usually they are items which I have clicked on a link to. Ie I was trying to download some books from the free online book forum. The Message I get is
Cannon Proceed problems ith MPUSBPRN01 Canon Printer - cannot access port may shared by another user (or similar to that can't remember it word for word)
The printer then goes through the motions but the print does not come out. After this it then jams the system and I have to shut everything off. Its not always but 2 out of 4 times. Is the system just busy or have I done something wrong. I have printed some things off ok. Thanks.

Try uninstalling it then reinstalling it with the latest drivers from the canon site.
If that doesn't work try a different USB port. May also want to try printing directly to printer, do this by going to the printer properties and select the "Print directly to printer" option, it's usually under the advanced tab.0 -
Some printers are sensative so try disconnecting the printer and uninstall the software. Reinstall the priner software without connecting printer unless asked to. Assuming you are on XP it will install the printer when you connect it.Works on Epsons.
