Should I switch?

I have been in my own home for approximately 4 months now and I am a first time buyer. I have my gas through British Gas and my electricity supplied by Scottish Power. Yesterday evening a lady called me from N power trying to persuade me to switch, and, as an avid reader of moneysavingexpert.com I told the lady that I didn't think it was the right time to switch. She went on to say that N Power have already announced their price increases and so I would be safe to switch to them and proceeded to keep me on the phone for over 15 minutes and is now going to send me out a welcome pack from which I have 7 days to decide whether I want to switch or not. I am really unsure what to do as she baffled me with unit prices etc and said it would all become clear once I receive the welcome pack. Just wondered what other people think? :o

  • Dont switch yet until everyone announces their increases, then you can see whats the cheapest and make up your own mind. It will be inevitable that British Gas will be calling their rises out next so watch this space.
