For all the info you might need on reusables visit:-

    The Cloth Resource

Edit: Please note that unlike some of the other sites being mentioned in this thread, this site is does not sell nappies and is not affiliated with any reusable manufacturers so is totally unbiased and not for profit!

Another useful link for reuseables info and support:

Suffolk residents can get £30 from the County Council on production of birth certificate and reciept. Contact the Waste Minimisation Dept & see http://suffolkrealnappynetwork.org.uk/SuffolkCC.php

The nappy network's One Stop nappy shop sells a starter pack for just £20 http://http://suffolkrealnappynetwork.org.uk/onestop.php which can be claimed back from the council so there is no excuse not to try!

Try looking up https://www.thenappylady.com I got loads of advice on there.

To make nappys feel better on babies bottom use a fleece liner. This helps keep bottom drier and feels nice and soft. Cut up a fleece jumper or buy a small amount in a material shop. They dry in an instant and poo plops off into the loo really easily. This is a strange thing to talk about... If you can use your shower attachment to rinse the nappy and liner over the loo this helps get rid of any poo. Then store the nappy in a bucket with a lid, (I used a fermenting bucket, previously used for home brew!), and then wash on a normal cycle, 40degrees will do. If you are really wanting to sterilise the nappy pop it in the microwave for a while to sterilize it. Dry on the washing line as this bleaches the nappy naturally, and of course is free!
If it aint broke don't fix it!

just adding to this - i bought the size 1 little lamb nappy trial pack. it says babies up to 16lbs but it was already too small when my baby was 4 weeks old! he did weigh 12 lbs at that point though so he's a large baby, even so ... the booster is separate so can be used with other nappies and i love the wrap, it's excellent. i'm using it with prefolds, it still fits fine. i'm glad i didn't buy a whole little lamb kit though.

  • That is a shame about the nappy, did they take it back?

Thinking of getting some more as they are so much easier than the terries.
