I am using these nappies on my 2 week old son and so far they've been really good. If anyone is planning on buying re-useable nappies ask your local council if they offer any incentives. I got £25.00 from Chesterfield Borough Council

I get most of my nappies here https://www.time2changeuk.com they have some good deals, and their prices are pretty low, and they give a freebie with every order, can't be bad eh?
Littlelambs are cute, I have one of those too.
My council doesn't do a scheme yet, but I hear it is on the cards.0 -
thanks for the links..
i see on the time2change site they have a packaged deal for less at 84.99

as i have no experience at this yet ...... does this compare to the Little lamb kit A offer??Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
We now have our second child in cloth nappies, just to note.

Does free postage so if you want to just top up because you need one extra it can be good value.
Though actually sometimes if you do just need one extra buying a trial pack can be a cheap way of doing it.
The little lamb nappies are shaped (good) the time2changeuk appear to be just plain terries (not so good). Shaped nappies make life easier, none of that complicated how do you fold a nappy business, just put it on and velcro like you would with a disposable nappy (or use a nappy nippa).
The little lamb kit does appear to be very good value for money, but we use tots bots nappies (with nappie nippas) and motherease wraps so I don't know how good they rae. I know not all nappies are the same and some are better than others. We bought some cheap wraps in a Boots sale, and they are not as good. Other people we know have stopped using cloth nappies because they had problems with them, so don't just buy the cheapest.
For good information (as ever) see https://www.babycentre.co.uk, there are articles and the cloth nappy bulletin board.
PS Coloured nappies can look good at first but tend to lose or change colour.0 -
yes, that particular pack on https://www.time2changeuk.com are terries, I have a few they not a huge ordeal as you do them up with nippas and not pins these days, but I do prefer tots bots (they have them on there but quite cheap too, cheaper than tots bots themselves!). And they have the easy peasy nappies which I love
I do have some of the cheaper wraps from there, Junior Joy ones http://www.time2changeuk.com/nappycovers.html and some of the nature babies coloured ones, they don't lose their colour and are fab, no leaks.
I know if you are buying alot and you email them they will do you a deal, my friend a got quite a bit off when she first started out, that is why I went there.0 -
Good deals are available from the nappy exchange from WEN. Ring 020 7481 9004 on Thursdays or Fridays. Also the Nappy networks often have good deals so it is worth looking at their newsletters. https://www.realnappy.net for the Cambridgeshire one.0

i bought the sample pack, my baby isn't due until next week. the prowrap looks excellent but the nappy looks tiny - also how do you get it to feel a bit softer after wahsing? it's tough and feels scratchy, not very nice at all. i also bought some kushies and these don't feel tough, just the little lamb one. i know you're not supposed to use softener on them, does anyone use just a bit? or is there something else you use?52% tight0

I use plain old flat terry nappies on my little one during the day - they are probably the cheapest reusable nappies you can buy plus they dry really quickly. As Henrietta said they are not difficult to use. These days you don't boil or soak them and don't need to use pins either. Little Ewe terries are nice and absorbent and cost £1.60 each for the small size from https://www.kittykins.co.uk
Mothercare are currently selling a pack of 6 own brand terry nappies for £8.00 (reduced from £10.00) they are not as thick and absorbant as Little Ewes but they do the job - just means that you have to change them slightly more often.
Having said all that I use Tots Bots at night as well!0 -
you can put them in the tumble for 10 mintues, shaking them out or rubbing them together can also soften them up.
You could use a bit of softener if you want to, but it reduces the absorbancy, or you can try distilled malt vinegar (not the brown stuff, it is clear), just put a couple of table spoonfulls in the softener compartment of your washer.0 -
i got my terries for 9.75 for 12, they aren't quite as thick as the little ewes but pretty good.0
