2 weeks in Laganas - how to find the best deal?

Myself and a mate have pretty much settled on Laganas, Zante as where to go, but I've had a deal from Going Places which I think is too steep:

£1172.80 for the both of us for 2 weeks. 3/7 to 17/7. We would like to go in July if possible - when abouts in July doesn't matter too much, so long as we depart from beginning-mid.

If there is anyone who could recommend websites for finding the flight / flight+accom that would be great. I'm convinced we could find somewhere for less than £500 each, if we can keep on looking.

The hotel is the Pallas Hotel, which upon reading reviews - has mixed reports.

Thanks in advance.

Early July would surely be cheaper as the schools break up at the end. Consider moving back a week to late june it may bring the cost down.

If you get flights and accomodation remember you will need a transfer from the airport to your hotel.

Surely there must be a cheap package online.

http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk have some good prices starting at around £350 each, the Pallas is also on there and would come in at £400 each for the two weeks on your dates (I put in flying from Manchester). This was using a 5% discount code which I don't think I can post here but I'm sure its in the vouchers board.

Travel Republic don't sell package holidays though, this is literally a flight and hotel booking, so you'd need transfers, not sure how much they cost.
