Joining Electoral Roll & applying for an account

Hi. I am due to join the rolling register on the 1st July.
If I ring up my local authority on the 1st and they confirm my details have been added, can I apply for credit that day without worry?
IE: will a credit check pull my details straight from the electoral roll, or from a 3rd party credit company like Experian or Equifax? If so, do I need to wait until their details are updated?
Cheers

I think you should give it a month or two for the details to get around to the databases of the credit reference agencies. How long you have lived at an address is a factor. Any of the credit reference agencies will try and find your previous addresses. It may be too soon to apply now but you could at a later date request to see your credit reports from Experian and Equifax and make sure that they have your details upto date before applying for credit.

Sign up for the free credit agency online credit file checking services and make sure your new details are there. Then cancel the free acount before they charge you, then apply for credit. Best way.Sense is not common.0

Hello, I've been through similar in the last 6 months and no, you can't apply the next day.... I had a few conversations with my local authority and they only update the information that is sent to the credit reference agencies twice a year - once in december and I cant remember the other. I don't know if twice a year is standard though - i live in Haringey.
