Alternative methods of travel

At the moment I'm doing the drive from Fife to Aberdeen for work every day but I want to start taking the train. I've checked the train times and unfortunately they don't quite work out for me time wise to work my 7.5 hours in the office. There is a train from Dundee to Aberdeen that would get me to work on time but it leaves Dundee at 6:30am and I cant think of a way to get to Dundee for that time of day.
The bus service doesn't run that early, the bike ride would take too long, taking the car defeats the purpose of taking the train as my wife would use the car. She could take me in the morning but it would mean waking the kids up nice and early which isn't really practical. I did think about a wee motorbike but then I'd have parking costs on top of the train costs. I've registered my details on a few different car share websites but no joy so far.

Basically I was wondering if there are any alternative ways of getting there I have missed that someone can suggest?

Cheers

    That is quite a trek!

Without being facetious move closer to work?

We are in a similar position here OH has to take her car to the station every day to get the train to Glasgow. She used to drive all the way but increased parking restrictions meant this was impractical.

I imagine until this government actually starts to deliver on improved public transport as opposed to just taxing motorists to death your only option will be the car.

    Good luck.

Aye if I'd moved to Dundee I'd have none of these worries, but then I'd be living in Dundee. :p
