Garage conversion

indian_jalepeno

Hi all, looking into converting my Garage into a study type room/additional bedroom (which will probably end up with the ironing, wash basket etc!!).

Can anyone recommend a reputable builder around the Lincoln area, preferably one who has done conversions before would be ideal. Had two quotes already which were at opposite ends of the scale, but the cheaper one never got back to us. Seems like builders can pick and choose what they want to do these days??..oh how I wish!!!

Thanks in advance

ask locally. friends family and neighbours.
drive round and see whats happening locally. if you see a builder working on an extension stop, and ask the owner for advice? assuming the job looks a good un.
never pick a builder out of the phone book!

Thanks, I did pop round to see an identical house to mine and they were more than happy with their conversion, but that was from the builder with the cheapest quote so far but he never got back to us hence they can pick and choose. Thanks again for the reply though, will keep my eye out for the builders!!..rather me than the wife?!?!
