Malarone Prescription - More than 30 days?

I'm going travelling in SE Asia at the start of next month and need a prescription of Malarone for 65 continuous days. As I understand it, Malarone is only licensed to be prescribed for 30 days - but I thought this was just advisory. This morning my nurse would not write me a prescription for more than 30 days. Are there any other options? Has anyone here been prescribed Malarone in the UK for more than 30 days?

I'm hoping it's either possible to visit a different travel clinic to obtain the prescription, or to source the medication when I arrive in Singapore.

I've only ever been able to get Malarone for less than a month. There's a couple of alternatives, but since each one has specific contraindications it's going to depend on your own health and history.

Ask about mefloquine (may have psychiatric side effects), doxycycline and primaquine (that'll depend on the strains of malaria prevalent in the region).
