Scratches on car

I am thinking of buying a 5 year old car and it has few bumps and scrapes and scratches on it. Not many bumps though. The paint is gone in some places, where it has been scratched and many places its just scratches.
Is this expensive to fix? And can I restore to its former silver gleaming metal glory?? Any advice?
Thanks
K

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Hi K
Depends on how deep the scratches are - have they only marked the serface, or down thru to metal?
If only litght damage & NOT metalic, could possibly be polished out - by using a machine & a cutting compound.
A body repairer or valeter could tell you, if they saw the car, before you bought it.
