Capital One 18 Months?

Hi all anyone else found this problem?
I was lucky enough to find one of the 18 Month 0% forms :j
about 3 months ago. Applied rescently as my egg card is due. Cap 1 have sent back a new application forms as 'they had problems with the application'. This one offers only 9 months @ 0%. Spoke to Cap 1 and they say its due to my credit check that they couldn't offer me 18 months. This dosn't ring true to me, they wont/haven't said what my credit limit will be yet. I cannot see how the credit check would affect the time the 0% is offered only the amount offered.
I asked if they had withdrawn the offer or if anyone else was being offered 18 months, I was told they were still offering the 18 months to some people
Any helpful hints as to how to get it to 18 months.
Thinking of appling to Virgin as I feel as if I have been conned. and the time its taken as Egg is due 1st Sept.

Thsi is exact same answer my mrs got when she tried to get the 18 month offer. The letter said something like "due to a processing error we do not have all the info we reuire to proceed with the application" but then proceeds to say apply for the 9 month one instead by just signing the form as they obviusly have all the info they require!!!!
I smell a rat. Why can't they just say no your not getting it rather than coming up with some stupid excuse which is so see through its unreal.

i hope they dont try to pull this one off with me....
C1 are the slowest at processing applications and have the worse CS team i've ever come across.

Seem to be a few posts where they renage on the deal in the way described above so there must be something wrong with Capital One processing.
For the record : I applied in June and got all processed no problem. I got a good credit limit too ... better than expected and all covered by balance transfers.Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0
