I will be running the Paris Marathon and i am looking for the cheapest Eurostar return ticket from the evening of 4th to the evening of 6th April 2008.
I remeber reading somewhere that it is cheaper if you book from foreign websites.
is this true?

Try the Spanish site. Go to www.eurostar.com and select the Spanish site. You may need to clear cookies from Internet Explorer if you have already accessed the UK site. Remember that the prices and payment will be in Euros so pay using a Nationwide card (if you have one).If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

Try different nationalities - US, Australian & Austrian seem to give good results but a lot depends on when the exchange rates were updated so GBP might work out cheaper especially for a weekend return ticket
For others - non-European versions of Eurostar allow you to book up to 9 months ahead as compared to 5 months for the rest of us0 -
Price comes out at 208 Euro's from the Spanish and Austrian site.
£65 with Easyjet so i might end up flying which i don't want to do as i would prefer the Eurostar which i have not taken since 98.0 -

Remember to ensure all taxes are added, travel to and from the airport, airport parking, and transfers into the centre of Paris when u arrive and leave. Plus factor in extended check in times at both ends plus lack of comfort.
The cheapest Eurostar fare before any offers is £109 return which looks good.0 -
Where did you see it for £109.
I tried the uk eurotunnel site.
4/4/08 eve to 6/4/08 eve and it comes back at £124 at the cheapest.
what am i missing?0 -
I can see £64.50, £54.50, £44.50 or £29.50 per leg, depending on time of travel
click Paris on the map http://www.eurostar.com/UK/uk/leisure/destinations.jsp0 -
Try this link .. it should go to the availability calendar ... which tells you that they've sold out of the £59 fares for 4 April and 6 April has low availability.
So ... you may have to pay "top whack" anyway.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Link doesn't work? And can't find availability calendar on the site???0

Sorry, it worked when I first posted, but I've tried it again and the session has timed out!
From the Latest Deals click on "City Breaks from just £55 with Eurostar" on the left, then "Book Now" under Parish ... the calendar should appear.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
On a vaguely similar point, I read somewhere that Eurostar were now offering one way fares from £35 - they had also removed the need for a Saturday night stay in order to qualify for their £59 returns - however, when I look for a £35 single, I have no luck - I put in my preferred date, it comes up with cheapest at £51 single (I checked out the return for the same dates - regardless of return date - be it a friday, sat or sunday - the return was a total of £59 - two lots of £29.50 single) - so why then is the cheapest oneway fare £51 - I tried several other dates at random in search of a £35 single - no luck - all came in at £51 - there seems to be no search facility to seek out the cheapest oneway fares as there is for the returns - anyone have any ideas?0
