HSBC Premier Free Travel insurance

Just had a mailshot from HSBC, claiming to give me (and my wife and kids) free worldwide travel insurance, inc 21 days winter sports. Has anybody else had the same? and does anyone have a view on the cover? My annual family world wide cover is up for renewal in 4 weeks and I am wondering if I should renew or if the HSBC cover is as good. If it is a great deal could be useful to other moneysavers.

If this is the one offered with the Premier/Bank Account Plus account it's fairly basic travel insurance and you should have received a policy document (or will get one soon). Theres a link to the policy doc here http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/personal/current-accounts/bank-account-plus/insurance-and-protection (this is the Basic+, the Premier is slightly more generous - kids can be up to 22).

You have to balance the value of this (and other 'perks') against the cost of running the account and the low interest rates when in credit. I've had a Premier account for around 15 years, but as they've changed their 'free banking' criteria (doubled everything), may be my last year with them. Have been offered this year for free (ie on the old conditions) but I have the feeling they'll be looking at charging me next year and I'll be looking at being a 'valued ex-customer'...
