I followed the link to Barclaycard Platinum from Martin's cashback card article. Existing customers are advised to phone.
I have an old Barcalycard Platinum without cashback.
I phoned and got through to an Indian call-centre. The first time I phoned, I was told, a VISA Barclaycard customer cannot apply for another VISA card. I would have to close the existing card and re-apply a few months later.
The second time I phoned, I was told the cashback Barclaycard existed no longer - the offer was withdrawn in 2007.
Does anyone know whether this is true at all and, if it isn't, what the route forward is for existing card-holders?

join the club in the confusing world of barclaycards offers, they are too complicated, and even the customer services reps dont know whats going on!
I would suggest ringing customer relations (not customer services abroad) and speaking to the customer relations manager. Explain the situation and get his name number details e.t.c. and they should be able to helpINCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!
...I will thank you if youve been helpful, please do the same! :j0
