Hoping someone can help me cheap holiday for family of 6

Well things have turned out a bit different than we had hopes and we are really tight for the holiday this year.
So turning to the site that has never failed to help yet!
There are two adults and 4 children (11 8 6 2)
we need a holiday idealy for 3 weeks (if we can't find a good price for 3 i could be persuaded to do 2 weeks) between 18th July and 31st of August (have to be back at latest 31st)
We can fly from any London airport (and Kent international!)
Open to anywhere...need some sun and relaxation.
To help a little i had thought of: Greece (love it there) cyprus,menorca,fuertaventura.
But am open to anywhere (appart from Spain mainland..went once and didn't like it at all).
We like to eat local food not deep fried everything n chips..

Our price bracket...rock bottom basicaly at the cheapest end of the market...as cheap as we can get really maybe up to 2k.
Oh i did get a holiday to Rhodes last year for us all for 1.3k (1 child was a baby then though).
I know in Greece basic is a white wash room with wooden beds..i can cope with that..after all we only ever sleep there

Really hoping someone can lend a hand with this one i really don't want to go without a holiday this year.

Hi Kate we have recently booked a week in Majorca in March. In the end I found our holiday myself but I did pm sloppychops twice and she was really helpful both times .She replied very quickly with some very good deals and helpful advice. HTH

Dang it - I spent ages making a reply and then it just dissapeared! Damn!

To cut to the point - Latvia coastline, (one of the main resorts is Jurmala) which is hot at July time, I did a quick ryanair search and you can get flights for £532 for all 6 of you going out 20/7 to 10/8 from Stanstead.

That leaves you about £1400 for accomodation - I did a quick google search and found one offering an apt for 420 euros per week - about £950 for 3 weeks.

That was on viewlatvia.com - other recommended to me was jurmala.lv and inyourpocket.com

oh and top of that spending money in Latvia needed would be a lot less than say Greece or even Croatia which is getting more and more popular.

Latvia is a no no, but thank you for taking the time to reply.
Still hoping for some leads. even if just leads on accomodation, I have some good prices for flight to Majorca Menorca,cyprus so far.
I have great price for Mykonos in Greece but the few reviews i have found are not good any one know of any nice bits there?
If anyone knows of any good flights to Fuertaventura that would be appreciated.

i stayed at a place in the algarve last september called the quinta pedra dos bicos in albufiera, booked through ideal-spaces.com, was a huge apartment that could easily accomodate 6, (master bedroom, small bedroom with 2 beds and a large living room with sofa beds), booked through ideal-spaces, don't bother with the advertised price, send an email with the dates you have in mind and what type of apartment you are looking for and they will send you links and reduced prices, got the room described above and it cost 450 euros for the week, had a washing machine, dishwasher etc and the beach was just a few minutes away. the strip is about 400 meters away but there are many more family friendly places nearby and a couple of supermarkets. flights are cheap i paid about £100 return, try monarch or easyjet, flights are only 2 1/2 hours long from liverpool/manchester and you can book transfers through ideal-spaces or keytransfers.com
